The first floor of the building is the dinning hall with the lodge on the second floor. It is a older lodge with a rather distinct ceiling light.
When I graduated from college I lived not too far from Mechanicburg in the town of Milford Center. I had fox hunted and shot a few ground hogs around Mechanicsburg. I did not know any of the Companions from when when I lived in Milford Center but some of us had common friends.
We also had euchre playing in one of the local taverns in common. It made for an enjoyable night talking about how the area had it had changed and some of the things that happened years ago.
A quick story for you. Every Friday night the two taverns in Miford Center served lake perch and all the local men headed to town. Now one Friday one of the regulars did not show up. Some of us were worried about him but should not have been. As we were leaving the tavern here he came down route 4 on his riding lawn mower. It seemed his wife was mad at him for coming to town every Friday so she hid his truck keys. He may have been a little late but he got to town.
Back to the inspection. The inspection degree was in the Past Master and we saw a very fine degree. In fact I handed out two more of MEC Oliver's little red crosses.
We were also privileged to have REC William Stratton, Eminent Prior of Ohio, in attendance for the evening. The Chapter is the home Chapter of Al Johnson, Past Eminent Prior, and REC Stratton had was there to visit.
Another night of dry roads and good fellowship.
"til the next time.
