Dedication of Corwin-Webb Apartments

On Saturday, February 26, we were off to Brecksville to dedicate the apartments of Corwin-Webb Chapter #205 for the use of Capitular masonry.  Brecksville is only about 25 miles north of Medina so finally we had a short drive.

This dedication had been scheduled for quite some time but due water through the roof problems there was some concern that it might have to be postponed.   Thankfully the Lodge room was O.K.    The dinning room still has some work to be completed but it is also quite usable.

All the Grand Officers except REC Ray Sharritts were in attendance for the ceremony.   REC Sharritts was excused because of a health problem.

This is one of the smaller Lodge and dinning rooms in the Cleveland area.   When you look at the first picture you notice that you can see both walls.  It is, however, a really nice lodge room.

The day started with a practice at 2:00 PM and the dedication at 3:00 PM.   This dedication is done two different ways at the desire of the Chapter.   It can be a closed or open ceremony.   Corwin-Webb requested that we do it in closed form.   At 3:00 PM the Ceremony of Dedication was opened.   This ceremony is only about 20 minutes long so even with remarks everything was completed by 3:40 PM and we retired to the dinning room for light refreshments.

The date of the dedication was chosen because the 16th Capitular District's Grand High Priest's Reception and Ball was scheduled for that evening.   Since it was in Independence, we only had about a 10 minute drive to the Holiday Inn.    This saved most of the Grand Officers one more drive to the Cleveland area.

The Chapter now has a new home and will put on its first degree on Monday, 2.28.

"till the next time.
