Pomeroy #80 Inspection

Middleport, OH is the home of Pomeroy Chapter#80. Now this is one of those place that you can't get to from here no matter where here is. It is a small river town about 200 miles south of Medina.
About 2:00 PM George Nockengost, Grand Marshall, and I headed for Mansfield where we met Bob Blankenhorn, GRAC, Daryl Porter, DDGHP of the 10th District and Ed Cole, HP of Mansfield Chapter. REC Blankenhorn loaded us into his van and off we went to Middleport. After a stop at a gourmet restaruant called "Burger King" we arrived in Middleport around 6:45 PM.
A Lodge of Mark Masters was opened at 7:00 PM and the degree was portrayed for a class of FIVE candidates.
The High Priest of Middleport is Larry Marshall who was just a little bit nervous as this was his first time in the east. His nervousness was unnecessary as he did a fine job as the Right Worshipful Master.
It should be noted that there are no Past Masters in the officers' line. This group of rookies should be proud of the work that they did. They may not have been perfect but by golly it was a nice degree all the way around. The lecture was split between two Brothers who had about 10 days to learn it. Both were new Companions of the Chapter and are to be thanked for stepping up and doing the job.
This is a Chapter that had an INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP last year and now has just advanced 5 new Candidates this year. This is a Chapter that is working hard and can say "I am proud' of being a Mason and of my Chapter.
After the meeting we retired to the dining room for light refreshments and fellowship.
Once more a fine end to a good day.
'til the next time.
